Implicit Motives at Scale: Using LLMs to Link Non-Conscious Needs to Work Outcomes
Invited Talk
Implicit Motives
Large Language Models
Invited talk, Stony Brook University
Event: Invited research talk, College of Business
Location: State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA
Host: Prof. Dr. Manuel London
Context
Traditional measures of implicit motives rely on trained coders scoring picture-story exercises, which limits the scale at which motive research can be conducted. This talk presented work on using large language models to code motive imagery, and asked what becomes possible for organizational research once motive assessment is no longer constrained by manual coding capacity.
